Obituary for ANGUS LEWIS EDWARDS

Angus L. Edwards, 81, of Comanche, TX passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Ft. Worth TX.

Angus was born to John L. and Druscilla Edwards on April 3, 1941 in Brownwood, Tx. He graduated from Early High School in 1959.

Angus met Nancy Roberts, who he proudly claimed as the love of his life, in 1960 and wed June 3, 1961. In 1963, Angus was called to serve in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska. During his service he was included in the beginning of computer programming and technological operations which helped further his career once he was discharged from the Army. They welcomed Mackey Dwayne in 1965 followed by Jeffrey Lynn in 1968. He then worked in Dallas until they moved to Comanche in 1976.

The couple eventually settled in Comanche to raise their sons. He opened a Chrysler Dealership until he began working as at Superior Cable as a Traffic Manager. This job led to retirement where he was able to enjoy time with his family.

Angus loved horses and was involved in racing horses for several years. He shared his passion of horses and mechanics with both of their boys. Eventually, he was able to also share his passions with his grandchildren.

Angus was a faithful Christian and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Angus is survived by his wife, Nancy Edwards; his two sons Mackey Edwards of Comanche and Jeff Edwards, wife Elizabeth, of Midland; his grandchildren Johnathan Edwards, wife Catherine, of Midland and SchonAnn Edwards of Lubbock.

Angus is preceded in death by his parents John L. and Druscilla Edwards of Early; his sisters Louise Lancaster of Early, Joy Hesse of Longview, and Dorothy Godfrey of Blanket.
