MEMORIALS: If desired, memorials may be made to East Side Baptist Church, 207 FM 3381, Comanche, Texas 76442.

Carl Wayne Crews, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, in Temple, Texas.

He was born on July 13, 1953, in Comanche, Texas, to William Arthur and Ruby Lee (Duram) Crews. Carl Wayne loved his family and was a hoot to be around. He was a man with many interests – he loved camping, fishing, any kind of traveling, playing his harmonica, old country music, playing cards and dominos, watching wrestling on TV, skating, mowing and especially riding his lawnmower around town. He loved all animals. Carl Wayne was an active member of East Side Baptist Church and was always involved in church activities, including a trip to Nashville, Tennessee and mission trips to Colorado and Haiti. In 2011 the Church held a Carl Wayne Crews Appreciation Day and presented him with a Bible, a Certificate of Appreciation and a jacket.

He is survived by three sisters: Nancy Braim of Gustine, Margie Williams and husband Mike of Comanche, and Clara Sue Hernandez and husband Tino of Ranger; three brothers: Robert Crews of Comanche, John Crews and wife Cracker of Comanche, and Oscar Crews of Whiteside, Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ruby Crews; four sisters, Lois Faye Crews, Rosa Lee Crews, Tommie Jean Jackson, and Eva Pena; and two brothers, Jimmie Ray Crews and Billy Frank Crews.
