Obituary for GRACIE FAYE BROWN (BINGHAM)

Gracie Faye Bingham Brown “Granny” was born on June 7, 1931, in Comanche County and passed away on February 14, 2023 in Brownwood, TX.

Granny married the love of her life; Fred J. Brown, on February 15, 1949, in Comanche, TX. She is survived by her daughters; Martha Dickerson and Wanda Cook and husband Darrell Cook; grandchildren, Callie Cook and son Calum, Lacie Cook and children Logan and Alessi, Brad Cook and daughters Abygail, Sarah, and Alissa, and Kayla Cook; nephews and nieces, Michael Towe, Cindy Sarpalius, Mike Brown, Steve Brown, Sue Mareburger, Lynn Brown and Larry Brown.

She is preceded in passing by her husband, Fred J. Brown; Son, Billy Fred Brown; Parents, Ples and Ida Pearl Bingham; sister, LaVerne Barrack; brother, Boyce Bingham; niece, LaVelle Towe; and nephew, Garry Barrick.
Granny was employed by Sidron Manufacturing and Jeans Hardware for many years. She enjoyed volunteering for the Comanche Volunteer Fire Department, The Comanche Food Pantry, and the Sand Hill Cemetery Association. In her free time she loved to sit outside with a Dr. Pepper and a Snickers bar. She also loved sewing for her family; whether it be patching holes in our clothing or performing emergency surgery on our baby dolls. Granny was never more excited than when she received the gift of great grandchildren. Her eyes would light up “as big as saucers” when she played with the babies; she thought the world of her “Little Dandy’s”. Many knew her as Gracie Faye but she will forever be our Granny.
