Obituary

MEMORIALS: If desired, memorials may be made to Cook Children’s Hospital, 801 7th Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76104.

Jerry Stephenson, age 70, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020, in Comanche, Texas.

He was born on December 10, 1949, in Anson, Texas, to Durwood and Elsie (Merrill) Stephenson. On May 2, 1975, he was united in marriage to Vickie Johnston in Comanche. Jerry was an amazing husband, father, and “Paw”. He was involved in all the family’s activities as well as involving his family in his hobbies and activities. Jerry loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting, racing horses, and sports - his favorite saying at football games was “HIT SOMEBODY”. He also spent many hours woodworking and making knives. He thoroughly enjoyed his work as a tractor salesman, meeting the farmers and ranchers of his community and making sure they had the exact equipment they needed. Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church of Comanche.

He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-five years, Vickie Stephenson of Comanche; daughter, Amanda Auvenshine of Comanche; sons, Josh Stephenson and wife Vicki of Fairfield, and Jacob Stephenson and wife Sara of Comanche; brother, Larry Stephenson; sisters, Cheryl Pugh and Debra Burnette; grandchildren: Daicee Auvenshine, Grace Stephenson, Bowen Stephenson, Wyatt Stephenson, and Drake Stephenson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Durwood and Elsie Stephenson.
