Jerry Landon Vines, age 86, passed away in Beeville, Texas, on August 9, 2020. He was born in Gorman, Texas on September 27, 1933 to Landon Oral Vines and Mable Mills Vines. He graduated from Comanche High School in 1951 and Texas Tech University in 1955. Jerry married Isla Sue Barret on June 18, 1954.

Jerry joined the United States Air Force after graduation from Texas Tech University. He served as a B-25 bomber instructor pilot and was discharged May 16, 1967 at the rank of Captain. After his military service, he joined the Texas A & M Extension Service as County Agriculture agent for Cameron County in the Texas Valley and in Lampasas County. He joined the Comanche National Bank as Agriculture Loan Officer in 1969 and retired as President in 1999. After he retired, he became a rancher and he and Sue traveled and enjoyed being grandparents.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Comanche, member of the Comanche Industrial Board, and Comanche Economic Development Board. He was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni of Texas Tech University in 1997.

Jerry will be remembered by his family, sons Landon and wife Betty of Richardson, Texas, John and his wife Debbie of Beeville, Texas, and Jim and his wife Julie of Waco, Texas. Granddaughters: Kristin Seward and husband Jonathan of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kayla Land and husband Kelcey of Colleyville, Texas and Staci Smith and husband David of Austin, Texas. Grandsons: Jared Vines and wife Misty of San Antonio, Texas, Zachary Vines and his wife Amanda of San Antonio, Texas and Joe Vines and wife Chelsea of Kingsbay, Georgia.

Jerry had nine great grandchildren, Jaiden Vines and Mavrik Vines of San Antonio, Texas, Keiser, Kason and Kreuz Land of Colleyville, Texas and Landon and Hudson Vines of San Antonio, Texas and Bexley and Maxen Seward of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sue Barret Vines and granddaughter Brittany Vines.
