Obituary for MAVIS N. FEIST

Major Mavis N. Feist, passed away on November 26, 2022, at Hendricks Medical Center.

She was born on March 19, 1943, in Gorman, Texas to Jake Valentine Timmons and Oda Dexter (Lane) Timmons. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Feist on July 2, 1961. Mavis had her master’s in nursing. She retired at the age of 77 from Comanche Community Medical Center where she was a Nurse Practitioner for many years. She loved her patients, and they loved her. She was a faithful Lutheran, paid lifetime dues for the American Legion. Mavis was a Major in the army beginning her tour in 1990 and remaining active for 8 years. She served in Desert Storm clean up and was in the reserves for many years.

Mavis is survived by 3 sons, Neil and wife Teresa Feist of Priddy; Dendy and wife Lexie Feist of Comanche; Kelly and Sharla Feist of Comanche; eight grandchildren: Brittainy Hertel and husband Jason; Brandon Feist and wife Courtney; Holly Mills and husband Jared; Schazden Feist and wife Leah; Chayden Feist and wife Addison; Shelden Feist and wife Catherine; Kelci Feist; Colton Feist; and Daniel Calhoun; great grand-children: Bryson, Brynlee, Brylen, Kynzlee, Jaysa Kate, Gunner, Tytan, Maggie, Kayden, Mavis, Evelynn, Ridge and Kenneth; and one sister, Claudine Hutchins and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth of 52 years, her parents, Jake Valentine Timmons and Dexter Oda (Davis) Timmons; brothers: Cary Allen and Hollis Dale and Beverly Gayle.
