Ruby Pauline Strain Dorman was born January 31, 1934, in Floydada, Texas, to Paul and Ruby Williams. The Lord called her home March 31, 2023, at the age of 89 years.

Pauline was one of thirteen siblings. She attended school in Lockney, Texas, and Plainview, Texas; she graduated from Plainview High School in May of 1951. The “love of her life”, Omer Russell Strain, graduated from Plainview High School in May of 1950. After graduation, he worked for Higginbotham-Bartlett Lumber Co. in Plainview. They married December 2, 1950. He was drafted into the army January of 1953. They spent two years at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, where Paula Kaye was born. After being discharged from the army, he went back to work for Higginbotham-Bartlett in Abilene, Texas, where Relda Jeanne, was born. Russell eventually became manager of the yard in Olton, Texas, where Pauline was his bookkeeper. After his death in 1989, Pauline moved to Snyder, Texas, and was employed as a clerk in a dental office. She married Bob Dorman August 29, 1998 and moved to Lubbock, Texas. They enjoyed trips, cruises, and camping. After his passing in 2012, she remained active with church friends and activities. In May of 2020, she moved to Comanche, Texas to be nearer her family. Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church in Comanche. Never wanting to remain idle, she became an active member of the prayer wrap ministry.

Working in camera shops gave her a love for photography. She was involved in providing pictures of GI’s in uniform that they could send home. Later, she was in demand as a wedding photographer. Pauline enjoyed traveling to interesting destinations, including summer vacations with her girls, bus trips, and cruises. She was a great cook, having started at the age of 9 years. Everyone loved her chocolate chip cookies and peanut patties, as well as a variety of delicious Christmas candies. She always had loaves of banana bread in the freezer ready to share with friends and family. She enjoyed staying busy sewing, tatting, crocheting, and quilting. Quilting was her passion. She loved handcrafting one-of-a-kind pieces for the special people in her life to cherish.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husbands, as well as brothers Bobby, Billy, Delwin, Jamie, and Keith and sisters Frances, Gaynelle, Twyla, Brenda, and Dana.
