Roy Bloyd, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, in Comanche, Texas.

He was born on September 15, 1927, in Lubbock, Texas, to Jesse Eston and Lorena Marie (Lindley) Bloyd. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy. On December 19, 1946, he was united in marriage to Dorthy June Bradley in Erath County, Texas. Roy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. For many years he worked for the United States Postal Service. He loved the outdoors, ranching and baseball. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Roy is survived by his wife, Dorthy June Bloyd of Comanche; son, Cris Bloyd and wife Melinda of Comanche; daughter, Janda Taylor and husband Bill of Comanche; grandchildren: Angelyn Ogle, Samantha Knowles and husband Joshua, Steve Taylor and wife Tracy, and Tracey Kern and husband Randal; great-grandchildren: Scotlyn Ogle, Brittyn Ogle, Cris Taylor, Zack Taylor, Dacie Taylor, Lance Taylor, Jonathan Kern, Shelby Kern, and Jeremy Kern. He was preceded in death by great-grandson, Peyton Kern; parents, Jesse and Lorena Bloyd; and sister, Joyce Kelly.
