Obituary for WILLIAM H. CRIM Jr.

William Hiram “Bill” Crim, Jr., age 86, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 in Brownwood, Texas.

William was born on April 16, 1936 in San Saba, Texas to William Hiram Crim and Hilda Jewel (Skaggs).

He was united in marriage on June 30, 1961 to Norma Lynn McDaniel in Sidney, Texas. He attended school in Sidney before graduating and starting college at Howard Payne University in Brownwood. He served in the United States Army in Tripoli, Libya. He worked at Ross Company in Early, Texas, becoming Plant Manager during his 35 years with the company. After leaving Ross Company he drove refrigerated trucks for FFE in Lancaster, Texas before joining Comanche County Precinct #1.

His favorite things were raising peanuts on his farm at Sidney, raising and riding horses, and running heavy equipment while working on the land and county roads. He dearly loved being outdoors and enjoying nature. He was a hard worker, but he also enjoyed spending time with his family. He helped to foster a love of movies in his daughter, and he enjoyed watching classic movies and TV with the family (especially westerns). He also attended many school sporting events after spending years teaching and practicing with his daughter. His easy smile and laugh will be missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Crim of Comanche; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Elaine Crim of Peaster, Texas; sister-in-law, Zanetta Crim of Comanche; sister-in-law, Ann Crim of Comanche; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hiram Crim and Hilda Jewel (Skaggs); brother, Johnny Crim; and brother, Richard Crim.
